Stockfish played the Blackmar-Diemer Gambit as a predetermined opening in the Top Chess Engine Championship against Leela Chess Zero (LCZero). Stockfish won the 100 game match but drew BDGs. The games began 1.d4 d5 2.e4 dxe4 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.f3 exf3 5.Nxf3 c6 (Ziegler Defence also reached via a Caro-Kann Defence. LCZero had played 6.Bc4. Stockfish chose the alternative 6.Bd3. After 6...Bg4 it resembles a 5…Bg4 Teichmann, but the later bishop move alters the development and attacking options.
