Blackmar-Diemer Gambit Donatti

The Scandinavian Defence 1.e4 d5 gives White the option of the enterprising 2.d4!? This can lead to the Blackmar-Diemer Gambit after 2...dxe4 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.f3. Black chose the Euwe variation below with 4...exf3 5.Nxf3 e6. The blitz game between Alvaro Donatti and Maksim Zhukov continued 6.Bd3 Bd6. One unusual feature is the move 9.Bb5. This reminded me of a similar idea once suggested by Eric Schiller. Black held on to the gambit pawn until a blunder on move 25. The winning tactical motif is called "removing the defender." White eliminated the knight on e6 so as to win the bishop on c5.
