Hugo Collin-Deslauriers of Canada won by transposing a Scandinavian Defense to the Blackmar-Diemer Gambit via 1.e4 d5 2.d4 dxe4. Full transposition to the Ziegler 5.Nxf3 c6 followed 7...Nf6. After White's 8.Ne5 line, Black has two common replies: the solid 8...Bg6 or the aggressive 8...Bxc2. Here Black played the weaker 8...Nbd7. Now White's game springs to life. Hugo regained the gambit pawn with 9.Nxf7 (also winning would be 9.Rxf5!). Collin-Deslauriers played well and won quickly - a typical BDG game.
My Blackmar-Diemer Gambit: Games Collection Second Edition puts four BDG books together in one Kindle ebook (974 games in 1330 pages).
